WHAT IS
 PLACIDA ARTS AND CRAFTS? 

Placida Arts and Crafts was established in 2023 in Malolos City, Bulacan, named in loving honor of Placida, the wife of Leandro C. Bautista of Hagonoy, Bulacan. More than just a creative hub, the shop is a living tribute to a quiet, graceful artisan whose legacy of handmade tradition continues to inspire.

Placida was a true folk artisan who spent her days teaching anyone eager to learn—from her daughters, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters to neighbors and passersby. Whether it was gantsilyo (crochet), burda (embroidery), cross-stitch, habing Hagonoy (local weaving), or traditional Filipino treats like bukayo, she passed on her knowledge in the warm, nurturing way only a grandmother could. She taught without pressure, corrected with kindness, and always welcomed learners with open arms. Her sessions felt more like cozy afternoons—sometimes even spent laughing and chewing nganga with friends, surrounded by threads, colors, and shared stories. Today, Placida Arts and Crafts carries that spirit forward—offering materials, workshops, and a welcoming space where creativity meets tradition. The legacy of a woman who quietly shaped her community lives on in every stitch, every fold, and every handmade piece shared within its walls.
